EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES
June 21, 2017
Effective communication is not just talking and listening. Effective communication is also about sending and receiving messages through attitude, tone of voice, facial expressions and body language. As people with Alzheimer's and related dementias progress and the ability to use words is lost, families need new ways to connect. Learn to decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia, and identify strategies to help connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.
Morgan Pavol, WV Alzheimer's Association's Mid-Ohio Valley Program Coordinator, will present this program to help us learn Effective Communication Strategies. We are partnering with Good Shepherd Nursing Home to bring this free program to the community. There are no CEUs with this program. The program, which will be held in Good Shepherd's Education Room, will run from 2:00pm to 3:00pm with sign-in starting at 1:30pm.
Refreshments will be available and all who are interested are welcome. Contact us at 304 243-0996 or akoegler@frontier.com or through our website to reserve your seat!
