It's Older Americans Month!

Flip the Script on Aging is the 2025 theme for Older Americans Month. Outdated aging stereotypes are being challenged and we are taking a look at what aging really looks like in 2025.

We need to call attention to aging and reimagine what it means to grow older. We need to change the perception that society has of aging adults.

Programs and policies are in the cross-hairs of budget cuts, and these are programs that help keep older adults independent, offer assistance with meal programs, transportation programs, and other vital services.

Help educate others about aging. Challenge the myths that some cling to that are outdated and false. Our older Americans bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that cannot be replaced.

Learn about aging programs. Learn about aging adults. Exchange ideas. Be engaged. Advocate for programs and services.

Older adults - be active in supporting programs. Contact your government officials and tell them how important programs are to you. Tell them how losing services will affect you, your friends, and your family. Visit your county senior center and see what is offered. You may be surprised at the opportunities that are available!

Celebrate the contributions of older adults, and commit to preserving the integrity of the programs that allow dignity and quality of life.
