Vietnam 50 years later

Posted: April 29, 2025, 12:43PM

It's hard to believe that the Vietnam War ended 50 years ago.  The armed conflict lasted from 1955 to 1975.  The widespread consequences of the war were (and remain) enormous.

Appromixately 2.7 million US military personnel served in Vietnam during the War.  Approximately 7,484 women served in Vietnam.*

The Vietnam War was considered to be the first televised war.**

Most of the soldiers were volunteers.**

Congress established the VA's Vet Center program in 1979 offering a broad range of services to veterans in response to the readjustment issues that affected so many veterans.  See what your local Vet Center has to offer!

Take a moment to recognize a Vietnam veteran for their service.  Say 'Thank You!'.  Say 'Welcome Home".

We appreciate you.
