CANCELLED - THE INVISIBLE PATIENT SERIES

December 16, 2020

More people are becoming caregivers, and providing many "layers" of care for their loved one.  They may do basic supervision.  Perhaps there is a need for light housekeeping (or heavy housekeeping!).  Maybe your loved one needs help with personal care (bathing, dressing, hair care, shaving).  They may also need help with scheduling appointments, getting groceries, handling finances, setting up and administering medications.....and on it goes.

What do you - the caregiver - do for yourself?  YOU are the Invisible Patient.  Physicians and friends ask how your care receiver is.  Do they ask how YOU are?  You often become lost on the path of providing care and your wellness isn't assessed.

YOU are often doing many of the tasks necessary to maintain your loved one - or loved ones - but you probably don't do anything for yourself.  Do you know how damaging that can be?

Join us on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at First Christian Church - Wheeling from 6:30 - 8:00 for a series focusing on YOU, the caregiver.  Marty Cornett, RN, BSN, NBC-HWC and I (Ann Koegler, MA, LSW) will be facilitating these sessions with guest speakers.  We will offer information on the invisible patient, self-care, legal and financial information, resources to help, body mechanics, and more.

Call Marty at 708 738-9902 or Ann at 304 243-0996 for information or to register.  We hope you will be able to attend all sessions but we know that may not be possible.  Come when you can!

Pre-registration is required.  Please contact us to register by the Friday before the Wednesday session.
