Medicare: An Overview

Benwood - McMechen Housing Authority and Altenheim Resource Services are offering a program for the residents and the community.

"Medicare:  An Overview" will be presented by WV State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) Counselor, Elizabeth Blake on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Benwood McMechen Housing Authority's Kubeck Community Room, 2200 Marshall Street, Benwood WV.

The program is free and open to the public.

How do I qualify for Medicare?  What is a Medicare Advantage plan?  What is a Medicare Supplement?  Can I change from one Medicare plan to another?  What does Medicare cover?  What is a Medicare Savings Program and how do I qualify?  And more!  Bring your questions!

State SHIP counselors are not paid by any specific insurance.  They offer free, unbiased information and assistance on Medicare to consumers who are approaching Medicare (age or other eligibility) or who are already Medicare beneficiaries.  All states have SHIP counselors.
